You send 1,000 input tokens and receive 2,000 output tokens. The calculation is (1,000 / 1,000,000 * $0.15) + (2,000 / 1,000,000 * $0.50) = $0.00015 + $0.001 = $0.00115.
Long context analysis
Processing a 50,000 token document and generating a 5,000 token summary. The cost is (50,000 / 1,000,000 * $0.15) + (5,000 / 1,000,000 * $0.50) = $0.0075 + $0.0025 = $0.01.
Streaming chat interaction
A 2,000 token prompt and 800 token response. The total is (2,000 / 1,000,000 * $0.15) + (800 / 1,000,000 * $0.50) = $0.0003 + $0.0004 = $0.0007.

We charge exactly what the model uses. Input tokens cost $0.15 per million and output tokens cost $0.50 per million. Errors and refusals are free. You do not pay for idle time or API calls that fail.
